Dentures have been used for centuries to help people restore the appearance and function of their smiles, and thanks to advances in materials and technology, dentures now look and function more like your natural teeth than ever before! Dentures are a solid and reliable restoration option for adults of all ages, and at Desert Dental Group, we offer both complete and partial dentures to meet your needs and give you back a confident smile.

Dentures are a type of removable oral appliance used to replace multiple missing teeth. There are two main types of dentures:

  • Complete Dentures — This type of denture is used to replace all the teeth in a full dental arch. Complete dentures may be used in one or both arches depending on your individual needs, and our dentists may recommend using a denture adhesive to give your appliance greater stability in your mouth.
  • Partial Dentures — Partials are recommended when you are missing multiple teeth but have some healthy teeth remaining. They typically include a thin framework or clasps that attach to your natural teeth to give your appliance a secure fit.

In some cases, an implant-supported denture may be recommended to give you a more permanent and stable solution. Our dentists will examine your mouth during your initial consultation to determine if this is a good option for you and will discuss all your treatment options with you at that time.

Most dentures require several appointments to create in order to ensure that your appliance will fit and function properly. During your regular dental exams, our dentists will check your dentures for wear and may make recommendations on denture maintenance. You will periodically need to have your dentures adjusted, including relining and rebasing, to make sure that they fit your mouth comfortably. Our dentists will also provide you with instructions on how to care for your appliance and keep it in good condition.
